Alliance Finance Company PLC was incorporated
on 18th July 1956.
The Issued Capital was Rs.150,000.00. The Original Board composed
of the
late Messrs Eardley de Silva (Founder Chairman),Heyward Fernando
(Managing Director), Fred Perera, Hayes
Jayasundera and N.M. Appuhamy. All these members were
distinguished gentleman and respected in the business community. They have left
their indelible footprints on the sands of time for us to emulate and follow.

The office initially comprised a small rented building,
located at No:43, Campbell Place, Colombo 8 and the staff was a team of five comprising
of the Managing Director, Accountant, typist, Mr. Pratapkumar
de Silva (Present Chairman) and the peon."Earn before you spend"
was the motto. "Others before self" was yet another
and the salary cheques were at the bottom of the bundle of the depositors
monthly interest cheques Alliance Finance made sure
the depositors got their interest On time and the employees got their wages. |

In
1958, Alliance Finance expanded the office by shifting to the 1st
floor of the Y.W.C.A., Jubilee Hall at 393, Union Place, Colombo 2.

In
1959, the Company became a quoted Company by the Colombo Brokers’
Association.

|

|
In
1969, Alliance Finance achieved one of its ambitions by purchasing
the land and building at No.84, Ward Place, Colombo 7. The building was renovated
and the office was moved to the new location. |

In
1995, to accommodate the growth and expansion of its activities,
a new three storied building was constructed. To the public, "Alliance House" and
the landscaped garden is a well-known landmark. Today, Alliance
Finance is the Flagship Company in the Alliance Group. We are a Registered Finance
Company and have been financiers for over four decades. Our shares are quoted in
the Colombo Stock Exchange. We are primarily engaged in providing financial solutions
such as leasing, hire purchase, consumer credit, loans, real estate, and collaboration
financing. |

One of our successful business areas are
the importation and sale of a wide range of products such as tiles and sanitary-ware
from Spain, Italy and Dubai; office system furniture from Malaysia; household furniture
from Burma and Indonesia; and motor vehicles from Japan. Furthermore, with our collaboration
financing we are the first financial institution to be awarded the prestigious ISO
9001 status by Det Norske Veritas (DNV), which proves our ability to design financial
solutions under stringent international quality standards, to suit different customer
requirements in a highly competitive and volatile business environment. |
